6 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Collision: Holiday Bash (Dec 23 - Results & Review)

4. The Patriarch & His Matriarch

Christian Cage Nick Shayna Wayne
AEW

Time to confess something: Eyes rolled in this household when Shayna Wayne poked her nose into the much-anticipated Adam Copeland vs. Christian Cage match a while back. That initially seemed like an unnecessary distraction, but it fits neatly into the broader story. Retrospectively, that eye rolling was unfair.

Besides, Shayna did really well with her part of the promo on this week's Collision. It could've been shakier than a sh*tting dog, but she smashed it and fans responded in kind by raining down boos. Then, Cage accepted the 'No DQ' match vs. Copeland for Worlds End next week.

Job done.

Christian plays his character so well that 'Ups' are almost guaranteed when he's around. It's still kinda funky that Edge is challenging for the TNT Title after moving to AEW, but that goes to show how much Cage has done to elevate the belt.
