6 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (July 5 - Review)
Downs...
3. The Acclaimed Do Acclaimed Things To Diminishing Returns
The Acclaimed's feud with QTV was very gently advanced in an inoffensive segment.
The Acclaimed won another woefully predictable trios match that somehow everybody cared about. This unit is so over that they're already playing a greatest hits set, and they only turned less than a year ago. It wasn't particularly ambitious or mind-blowing telly, but it was loud and fun enough. Then, Harley Cameron interrupted the celebrations and threatened to drop a music video next week in a bid to prove that she is the best musician in AEW (she can sing well, but as a heel, she won't).
Remember when the rankings system existed to prove who the best wrestler is in AEW?
These matches are genuinely worthless. With the old framework in place, the Acclaimed would have earned #1 contender status to the House of Black weeks ago.
It no longer exists, and now, because their wins don't matter, they must contend with QT Marshall penning Jillian Hall-style material, which is a more brutal prospect than any picture you might have seen of Jon Moxley this week.
