6 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (November 1 - Results & Review)

4. The Elite Saga Begins Again (Again)

WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL it's Paul Wight

Hung Bucks Vs. Brian Cage and the Gates of Agony was trending towards good enough before an awesome finishing sequence - and some long, long overdue character development.

After some good if familiar genre action, Swerve Strickland appeared on the stage and gloated over invading Hangman Page's house last week. Page, fired up, left the Bucks to die via fabulous, OTT overkill. After a series of brutal-looking Fatality moments, Matt could no longer stand, much less raise his shoulder, and the Hung Bucks are no longer ROH Trios champions. This was an echo of the best Elite saga booking. Each character was right in their own mind.

Page, who realistically should have hunted Swerve down the second he stepped foot in the arena, had to defend his family. Matt Jackson threw a tantrum because he lost a title (if only that title actually meant something) before later asking Kenny Omega where on earth he was.

For the Bucks, and their recent track record of not appearing to care much at all, it's a start - but do fans want to see the end of the Elite saga?

Is yet another chapter in which they fall out with another, as a result of Paul Wight of all people, the best possible use of an act that peaked in 2021?
