6 Ups & 3 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (2 Dec)

1. Sabin Fells Rehwoldt

Thought it, at times, seemed nothing more than a setup for Mickie James vs. Deonna Purrazzo, Chris Sabin vs. Matthew Rehwoldt over-delivered in places.

This was enjoyable even in its premise. The former Aiden English had effectively challenged Sabin to a bout in a bid to prove himself as a worthy contender within IMPACT. This was then topped off by him looking to be in the right place vs. an ex-World Champion. He worked well in the situation, matching Sabin in speed and agility, with a pouncing knee serving as a worthy finish. Except it wasn't. Chris Sabin mounted a comeback, hit a Cradle Shock, and pinned the 'Drama King'.

That, perhaps, was the wrong choice given Rehwoldt's impressive onslaught here, but it only came around due to Mickie James coming to Sabin's aid, brawling with Deonna Purrazzo in the process. In this case, this could have occurred post-match, with Deonna's distraction being sufficient in terms of Sabin losing to Rehwoldt.

Nonetheless, this was great. Sabin and Rehwoldt visibly mesh well together, and could feasibly be a fully-fledged storyline should IMPACT wish to pursue this in the future.
