6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Clash In Paris 2025 (Results & Review)

3. Fatal-4-Way Flatters To Deceive
Some reading may disagree with this point, but this particular fan really struggled to properly get into the main event. The early 3-on-1 stuff that saw CM Punk, Jey Uso and LA Knight team up on Seth Rollins never went anywhere and maybe ended too quickly, and this generally always felt like multiple different singles matches going on at the same time.
The Paris faithful didn't buy into Punk's half-hearted Dudley Boyz tribute when he told Jey to go get the table either. That sort of spot felt out of place considering everybody was vying to become World Champ, and because Punk should've gone into this one breathing fire after what happened to him back at SummerSlam. Heist of the century, and all that.
Unfortunately, nobody in attendance bought a title change even for the biggest near falls. Punk hitting the GTS on Rollins in a title bout should always be taken seriously, but the people knew he was never regaining the belt on Sunday. Don't get it skewed - the main event wasn't outright terrible or anything (that'd be impossible with the collection of talent on show), but it won’t live long in the memory for any other reason than Becky Lynch’s interference.
She'll steal the headlines, not the match itself.
Honestly? Uso and Knight came across as upper midcarders encroaching on the real meat of the story between Punk and Rollins as well. France seemed happy enough with what they were seeing, and Lynch's surprise will give this PLE historical context in months and years to come, but there'd be no need to revisit the Fatal-4-Way before she ran in.
