6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Night Of Champions 2025 (Results & Review)

WWE Night Of Champions 2025 Jacob Fatu Hikuleo

Being brutally frank about it, poor JC Mateo has looked totally ill-equipped to replace Jacob Fatu by Solo Sikoa's side. Jeff Cobb hasn't been a fab substitute for the 'Samoan Werewolf' at all, and there's no sense in pretending otherwise. The debuting Hikuleo fits that part better, and having Tonga Loa back by Sikoa’s side as another warm body helps beef things out further on the heel end.

Now, the deck is stacked against Jacob, so he’ll need The Usos to help even that out a little. Maybe even Roman Reigns? Would that even make sense within the non-stop tapestry of The Bloodline story? Meh, who cares?! Get Roman, Jimmy and Jey on board with Jacob for a match against Solo, JC, Hikuleo and Loa ASAP.

That'd be a bit stacked in favour of the babyfaces, admittedly.

Back to Hikuleo. Michael Cole and Wade Barrett were very careful not to harp on his ring name at Night Of Champions, then it was revealed during the post-PLE presser that he'll be called Tala Tonga; at one point, Cole almost slipped when saying he was related to Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. It sounded like the lead play by play man was calling this big debutant Tonga Loa Tama Tonga!

Tala was the difference maker and the main reason why Solo beat Jacob to become new United States Champion. Expect that to be the crux of a gloating Sikoa promo on SmackDown sooner rather than later. Then, he can introduce his new charge and the pressure will be off JC Mateo.
