6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE NXT UK (17 June)

3. For The Culture

A minor Down for Mark Andrews heading backstage instead of being in Flash Morgan Webster and Dani Luna’s corner again, but their main event vs. Joseph Conners and Jinny was a fine piece of business.

While the match was fought stereotypically as the men fight the men and the women fight the women, there were a few instances of this not being the case, namely Luna Powerbombing Conners to set up the finish and Jinny smacking the piss out of Webster. This was vastly needed to keep the match fresh.

Other than that, there wasn’t much else to the bout. SUBCULTURE’s assisted Tope con Hilo was gorgeous; the same goes for Conners’ elbow smash backbreaker. It shouldn’t have main evented, though, as not even Pretty Deadly’s commentary added much to the contest. They were talking about how they pay someone to tie their shoelaces. Riveting!

Webster’s 630 Senton to Conners ruled the match in favour of SUBCULTURE, seemingly setting he and Mark Andrews up for an NXT UK Tag Team Championships match down the line. If something can be attained coming out of this, then super. The match was alright. Nothing special, sadly.
