6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE NXT UK (24 June)
2. The Eye Sees Everything
Teoman vs. Oliver Carter was a noticeable step up with regards to the quality of in-ring action. Carter waning vengeance for his tag partner, Ashton Smith, was the story. Simple stuff, and yet, oh so effective.
Oliver was on a different form here, making use of an array of stronger-than-usual strikes, hitting a high kick a la Booker T. The Lariats he connected with later on were also highlights, but ultimately, it was Teoman's night. A failed top-rope Frankensteiner led to Carter landing slightly on his neck. Intentional or not, it laid the groundwork for the perfect finish, as the former Lucky Kid spiked Olly with a sick tornado DDT and followed sharply with a winning Crossface.
It was the aftermath mattered, though, as Rohan Raja emerged to seemingly save Oliver from further damage via Crossface, but instead laid him out.. Raja's leaping Flatliner left Carter laying as he left with the wXw standout.
A good bit of business here that made your writer actually care for an Oliver Carter match. Teoman didn't necessarily need a bodyguard, presuming that's the role Rohan will be taking on, however, there's bags of potential in that union so long as it's done correctly.
