4. A Better Showing From Sol

WWE Raw Sol Ruca

The last time Sol Ruca and Lyra Valkyria met in the ring, Lyra had to guide Sol through an error-filled match that exemplified how unprepared or ill-equipped Ruca was for the moment.

Monday night, the two faced each other again, with no titles on the line, and the result was a much better effort from the acrobatic Sol. The match started slowly with some mat wrestling, but it picked up after a commercial break, with Ruca stringing together some offense, including a move where she yanked Lyra off the mat directly into a German suplex.

But when Ruca attempted a Sasuke Special, Valkyria jumped onto the apron and counted with a rope-assisted neckbreaker, followed up by a diving leg drop for two. Sol flipped out of a Nightwing attempt, spiked Lyra with a DDT, and hit the Sol Snatcher for the win.

Good effort and a much better showing from Ruca, though she’ll need to string a few more of these together. Hopefully getting reps helps her continue to improve.
