5. The Most Interesting Miz Ever?

Serious question: When has the Miz ever been more interesting and relevant than he is right now?

For years, Miz has sputtered along as a C-list superstar, a mid-carder who gets jobbed out but constantly gets pulled up for mini-pushes, mid-card title reigns, and heatless feuds with more popular wrestlers. It’s a cycle that has repeated itself for a decade now, with Miz reciting his Wikipedia page of accomplishments no less than 1,000 times.

Suddenly, his feud with LA Knight – which has been heavily colored in both men saying the quiet criticisms about each other out loud – has woken up fans. Of course, a large part of this has to be due to Knight’s sky-high popularity, but Miz deserves credit for going beyond his usual boring shtick.

Monday, Miz cosplayed as LA and proceeded to make the fans look like dopey sheep, all but yelling, “Stupid fans say yeah?” He burned through Knight’s catchphrases (while interspersing Rock and Steve Austin references), aped his mannerisms and then said that anyone could be as vanilla as LA and just do his catchphrases.

The irony shouldn’t be lost on Miz calling out someone for relying on catchphrases to get over – but again, that’s the entire joke here, and it’s nice for once that WWE is inviting fans to be in on the joke rather than having it painfully explained to them.
