Another Saturday Night’s Main Event is in the books, and yet another “no value added” performance from Pat McAfee.
WWE can love his energy and presence all they want. They can point to the popularity of his show as mainstream exposure, but when it comes to actual analysis and adding something to the broadcast, standing on the desk and “yeeting” with the fans or yelling at the top of his lungs isn’t adding to the product.
What’s really embarrassing is that McAfee wasn’t missed at all during his absence from Raw last week, and he was outshone on commentary by replacement Wade Barrett. Even Jesse “The Body” Ventura’s turn behind the desk for one match on Saturday was more insightful and worthwhile than Pat’s entire two-hour performance.
As a hype man, he might be fine, but Pete McAfee was a net negative here.
