Ups...

6. Piper Niven = Jade’s Ideal Opponent

Onto the good, and there's plenty of it to get through.

Piper Niven is a smarter worker than she'll perhaps ever get credit for from some WWE fans. On Friday, she cleverly kept things simple enough for Jade Cargill without making the match cumbersome or boring to watch. It was half the length of Nia Jax vs. Naomi, but turned out to be a better bout for that brevity.

Jade did some selling during the first few minutes, then launched a popular comeback. No complaints here. Some may argue that the reigning Women's Tag-Team Champs shouldn't be in the tournament at all (they'd rather see them work a story over in that division), but Cargill is a star on the rise and needs all the reps she can get.

Here's hoping Hunter gave Piper a pat on the back for her performance on SmackDown. She worked hard to make Jade look like a big deal, but also squeezed in some believable offensive spots of her own. This was a textbook example of a five-minute babyface win done right.
