6 Ups & 4 Downs For WWE Raw (28 July - Results & Review)

What are we doing here?
Paul Heyman interrupted Jey Uso’s opening promo to speak to his former Bloodline compatriot “from the heart” about family. What ensued was a strange promo with Heyman telling Jey that family is always going to let him down, using Santa Claus and Rikishi wishing his son well as examples of how family lies to each other.
Heyman said Roman Reigns had lied to Jey. Roman, the king of gaslighting. Yeah, pretty sure everyone knows that Reigns has lied to his family, especially Uso, For his part, Jey wasn’t having any of this and lit into Heyman and talked about how he’d always been there for his family (like Survivor Series last fall) and would always pull up for them.
Michael Cole tried to sell this as Heyman planting “seeds of doubt,” but then at the end of Raw, there was Roman making the save and taking the same beating alongside his cousin. Everything from the opening segment just felt like a waste of time, a space-filler on the storyboard. If any of this is referenced again or carries weight in an ongoing storyline, it’ll be a shock.
