6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Dec 8)

1. Dustin Rhodes Enters The Waiting Room

Steady improvement is what viewers would have hoped for from Britt Baker's Waiting Room when it debuted on Dark a few weeks ago. The YouTube series was the perfect spot for it, as it would allow Baker and AEW to tighten the nuts and bolts with minimal respect, before eventually taking it to Dynamite, and last night, it took another step forward.

The deliberately corny aesthetics are still in play, as is Baker's stand-up bit. She talked about Kenny Omega's World Title win and Sting keeping Tony Schiavone relevant, saving her a job, then cut a promo on Thunder Rosa, with Rebel laughing, annoyingly (intentionally so), in the background.

On came her guest, Dustin Rhodes, who cut a fire promo on The Dark Order, promising to take each and every one of them out. Baker mocked the former Goldust for his age, but Dustin bit back, saying he won Match of the Year in 2019, not her boyfriend. Finally, Marko Stunt was brought on as the musical guest, playing The Waiting Room out with his best Ed Sheeran impression.

It's too early to throw this segment on Dynamite yet, but it's definitely getting there. The strongest offering from Britt and co. so far.
