6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (13 April)

3. Team Taz Beat Strickland & Lee In Bombastic Battle

Team Taz vs. Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee was all about the flexing.

This was two groups of multi-talented guys flaunting their abilities in a popping display of one-upmanship. It began with Powerhouse Hobbs flexing on Lee, literally staring Keith in the eye while launching Strickland across the ropes, and continued through touches like hometown hero Ricky Starks strutting across the top rope. Later, Lee got in on the "look at what I can do!" act when he leapfrogged Hobbs before yeeting Ricky into his tag team partner, then getting a fantastic reception for his teased big boy showdown with the Powerhouse.

Perhaps AEW should run their singles match back?

The story didn't need to be anything more elaborate than this, with Taz grabbing Lee's boot allowing Hobbs to hit the Spinebuster on the bigger man for the pin, which appeared to be the outcome the crowd wanted.

Everybody was over, Lee and Strickland demonstrated great chemistry, and the pacing was tremendous. It's tough to ask for more from this pairing.
