3. Orange Cassidy Vs Trent Beretta

Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta's first contest against one another felt rushed on to Dynamite when most assumed it would be saved for Double Or Nothing, but - like the announcement of Chuck Taylor's potential retirement last week - it mostly existed to further a much bigger and darker story going between the former Best Friends and Don Callis.

Flexing their years of chemistry as partners and friends, Cassidy and Beretta had a strong crowd brawl before 'The Invisible Hand' made his presence felt on commentary. After an ad break, the worked towards a finish that carefully implied the first signs of a bond between Cassidy and Callis without it necessarily being anything other than a coincidence. Trent had alerted the referee's attention when he ripped off a turnbuckle cover, but - utilising the distraction - OC pulled off the pad on the other side. He then bounced an unaware Beretta off the exposed steel and rolled him up for the win, in an act of mild chicanery that nonetheless impressed Callis at the desk.

Trent raged in the post-match, drilling Cassidy with a piledriver on the steps and a catapult into the underside of the ring. This was criminally undersold, but was in service of Callis yet again looking like the former International Champion's new ally. Kris Statlander yet again appeared to row with Beretta as he left, but the two of them exiting together was potentially yet more foreshadowing of both ending up by Callis' side.
