6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite: Beach Break (Feb 3)

2. Baker Blasts Past Thunder Rosa

Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa lived up to the build's promise as a heated, attritional battle between two people who detest each other. It conveyed a tangible sense of struggle from bell to bell and while the finish perhaps wasn't as slick as intended, it mattered little, as Baker knocked Rosa out on an exposed turnbuckle and ended her night with an unnecessary Lockjaw.

The duo got right to trying to hurt each other. Rosa stormed out of the back and went straight after Baker's limbs, then ate the good doctor alive with strikes, controlling the ring. Britt, too, had malice in her heart. Tempered by the occasional moment of overconfidence, she was bullish, even after absorbing a Death Valley Driver on the apron and another in the ring.

Rosa pushed her rival close, scoring a tight near-fall towards the end. There's no shame in falling for Baker's shenanigans, either, as Rebel dislodged the turnbuckle pad, facilitating the victory. The outcome will only make her meaner and more aggressive going forward, while Britt moves into the Women's World Title Eliminator with the wind in her sails.
