6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest (20 July)
3. Wheeler Yuta Comes Of Age... Again
AEW tied the Wheeler Yuta/Best Friends storyline up last night - and thankfully so.
Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta needed another shot at getting back at their former protege for ditching them in favour of the Blackpool Combat Club. This is the kind of small, important detail that sometimes goes unresolved in AEW's chaotic, mile-a-second world, so that the wrestlers were able to wrap it up in a strong television match was welcome.
While never friendly, the match was at least fought with a clean, competitive spirit early on. Things unravelled when Best Friends got frustrated. Taylor threw Yuta around outside, incurring Mox's wrath, and then the bombs dropped. An Awful Waffle on Moxley and two piledrivers on Yuta put the outcome in threat. Then, the Crunchy got a two, prevented only by Moxley flying at Trent with the Regal Knee, dropping everybody.
Adding further detail was Yuta pinning Taylor via Seatbelt, a technique Orange Cassidy claimed Chuck had taught the up-and-comer. Thus, the story concludes on a bitter note for Best Friends, who were outfought and outthought by their own former student.
