6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (May 28)

2. Britt Baker’s Confidence

Hikaru Shida was presented with a brand new (slightly larger) AEW Women's Title towards the end of Dynamite. That brought out her Double Or Nothing opponent Britt Baker, and the bad ass dentist had a lot on her mind. Still, no-one could've foreseen such a strong go home promo.

Britt's line about the previous era being "all about 3:16" and this one being "all about D.M.D" was awesome, and baker must've felt like a million bucks when the live crowd joined in on her closing acronym. There's some powerful contrasting between characters going on here too that deserves praise.

Shida is the respectful, appreciative and humble champ, whereas Baker is the mouthy one. This short exchange, which showed off those different personality traits, was all they needed from this week's show before Sunday's clash. It's also true that Britt has some rebellious babyface vibes to her that are begging for exploration later in 2021.

Good work.
