Chris Jericho Sammy Guevara Hug
AEW

This again?!

Chris Jericho came to Sammy Guevara's aid when the Don Callis Family unceremoniously dumped him and started kicking lumps out of wrestling's new daddy. Fans popped out of politeness, but there's no way AEW gets a pass for playing this card for the zillionth time over the past few years. That's what it feels like, anyway.

Diminishing returns are a stone cold killer to any wrestling booking, and this is a prime example on All Elite's side. At this point, it's really hard to care about the topsy turvy relationship between Jericho and Guevara. Many fans are numb to their constant fallouts and erm...fall-back-ins.

Worse, this means Sammy's alliance with Callis went nowhere and actually did sod all for him as a character overall. So, he's a babyface because he's a new father? That's it?! This was all terribly rushed, and Guevara lacks the necessary fire to be a likeable underdog babyface anyway.

He's a natural heel.
