6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage: Grand Slam (Sept 23)

Ups...

6. Eddie Kingston Screws Himself

If you like brawling, then Rampage was the show for you. The opening tag (more to come on that) was fun, and the main event proved to be a killer showcase for two young lions. Then, sandwiched in the middle, All Elite let Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara squish some real-life beef.

Fans in New York had been waiting on this one.

Everything clicked. Sammy called Eddie a "fat piece of sh*t" before the opening bell, and that opened the door for Kingston to wallop his smooch-loving foe's arse for close to 10 minutes. Guevara did have his moments too though, then AEW came up with a nifty finish.

Eddie refused to relinquish his submission after the bell, which caused ref Paul Turner to reverse the call and award the match to Sammy. Furious, Kingston went all Ken Shamrock at SummerSlam 1997 on everyone and tossed security guards around like empty bags of laundry.

No complaints.
