6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage: Grand Slam (Sept 23)

3. A Great Showcase

Jungle Boy Rey Fenix
AEW

Jungle Boy and Rey Fenix have some chemistry, man. If brawls aren't your thing, then check out Rampage and skim through until you hit JB vs. Fenix. You won't be disappointed, because they both put on a terrific showcase that ended clean as a whistle.

Yours truly actually prefers Rey in these singles bouts rather than in the trios mix AEW favours, but he shines doing anything. That's the sign of a top, top worker, and it's a real credit to Jack Perry that he hung in there with someone so skilled. Jungle Boy should still be viewed as a star of the future.

His time will come.

As aforementioned, the clean finish was also appreciated. It would've been easy for All Elite to book a typical Christian Cage or Luchasaurus run-in and have Aubrey Edwards call for the bell. Nah, screw that when you can script a clean finish into some storytelling.
