6 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (13 May)

2. Here We Go Again

As expected, we are now back in a pit with regards to IMPACT’s booking of Brian Myers. ‘The Most Professional Wrestler’ battled Crazzy Steve on this week’s IMPACT, wrestling as tedious a match as there is ahead of his clash with Black Taurus at Under Siege.

It accomplished nothing.

Myers feigned being hit by Taurus at ringside early on, which was quite good, but this was as good as things got in the match. While he did technically dominate Steve throughout the bout, he did so only through a series of rest holds and basic manoeuvres that any newbie wrestler could pull off. He only won the match by reversing a tornado DDT into a rollup with a hold of the ropes. Yes, Myers cheated to win yet again. That he was laid out by Black Taurus post-match says enough.

It’s been almost a year since the former Curt Hawkins officially arrived in IMPACT, and yet, the only thing he’s actually got to show for it is a pay-per-view win over Matt Cardona. The rest of his IMPACT career, regardless of if the matches have been decent, can be written off because of his creative booking, or rather lack thereof. Something must change.
