6 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (5 August)

1. The Hunt Cools

Oof.

Frankie Kazarian's first IMPACT match since 2014 should have been a marquee attraction, and in a way, it was. He got the main event spot, he was teaming with two IMPACT stalwarts in Sami Callihan and Eddie Edwards, and he was going against Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers to continue his Elite Hunter schtick from AEW.

The only issue is that this felt more like Sami and Eddie's fight, rather than Kazarian's. He wasn't involved in any of the match's big spots, with his partners finishing off Karl Anderson and Kenny Omega - who took a gnarly apron Piledriver just for the sake of it - for the win. From there, 'The Heavy Metal Rebel' wasn't even celebrating the win in-ring; instead, he was shown wandering around ringside.

As a match, it was your standard Elite six-man tag. It was fine, but not enough; that's alright because this was a TV main event. A little more would have been expected, had this been an IMPACT Plus special, for example.

Why Kazarian stepped through the Forbidden Door just for this is mind-boggling. He helped lay the foundations of IMPACT Wrestling. Why didn't he get to do more in his return back home?
