6 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (March 2)
4. Bad Mood Brian
Matt Cardona calling Brian Myers 'Bad Mood Brian' as if it's supposed to be a huge insult is a joke in itself, but it does at least make for a relevant headline coming out of last night's show.
'The Most Professional Wrestler' wrestled Eddie Edwards with Cardona as the guest referee in a decent match. We saw all the usual offence from both men here; the Blue Thunder Bomb, the overheard belly to belly, the sliding legsweep. A standard match by all means, made better by how it ended. Myers laid out Eddie with his Roster Cut lariat, with Cardona ruling the bout a disqualification win for Edwards after noticing Myers had loaded his elbow pad.
This is as slow a build as you can get. We're quite clearly going to see Myers vs. Cardona at Rebellion on 24 April. It's a bit too good to be given away on either a free-to-watch weekly show or an Impact Plus special, but it's perfect for a pay-per-view. As for this match? It was good. Nothing overtly special that you need to see, but it did its job.
