6 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's NXT (March 11)

4. The Next Level

Ripley Flair
NXT

Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte is going to be absolutely brilliant and, more than likely, make a massive star out of the Australian in the process. The only danger is that it's too far too fast for her, and the lack of big-match experience highlights how hastily WWE have attempted to strap a rocket to her. Having her challenger literally lean into this narrative for the feud is a brilliant decision.

Working with Flair has seen Ripley step her game up in a number of ways already. Going all the way back to Survivor Series, she's come on drastically in the last 6 months to the point where it's genuinely not beyond the realms of possibility that she'd just steamroller Charlotte just as she has pretty much everybody else. But that would be boring.

To make this really feel like a star-making moment she needs to not already feel like a star. Having Charlottle belittle her at every turn, get the upper hand physically, and insist she's not on her level casts her as the underdog and is pitch-perfect booking.
