6 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's NXT (March 11)

Mendoza Kidnapped
NXT

I've made the complaint before that virtually every feud, every story, every rivalry in NXT only ever seems to be instigated or advanced by everyone having a non-sensical brawl. Yes, this is wrestling and yes, people like to hit each other a lot, but the show often feels like it's only got one gear and, as good as it is, it's a bit exhausting. After a while you just sort of get numb to it all.

The Broserweights have been such a breath of fresh air precisely because they're something a bit different. This week we got 3 standout moments that all helped to service upcoming angles without a single punch being thrown and, honestly my friends, I cannot tell you how delighted this made me. Finn Balor waved his passport at Walter, Tyler Breeze and Austin Theory bantered each other off backstage, and Raul Mendoza got... kidnapped!?

Inevitably some of it will be hit and miss but the sheer variety of it was refreshing. Balor didn't attack Imperium, Theory didn't slap the respect back into Breeze, and the two masked assailants in the parking lot just sort of... ushered Mendoza into their car.
