6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE NXT UK (18 March)
4. The Prelude To 'Mania
NXT UK Prelude was confirmed for WrestleMania week last night, going down on 8 April as a special edition of the weekly show. General manager Johnny Saint confirmed the first match as being Tyler Bate vs. Noam Dar in a Heritage Cup Rules Match to determine the next contender to A-Kid's championship.
This is fantastic. Typically, WrestleMania week will only feature content from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, as well as the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, of course. The inclusion of NXT UK in amongst all of this, albeit not in the same country as everyone else, is a perfect example of how WWE currently views the product. That they're also not just putting the show on for the sake of having a show is proven when you see the main event - WALTER vs. Rampage Brown.
'The Ring General's' record-shattering reign is in genuine threat come 8 April. Rampage Brown could legitimately be the one to end his time on top, and it would make perfect sense. There's been no-one more deserving of such an opportunity.
