6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (13 May - Results & Review)

5. A Heartwarming Return

Samantha Irvin Lillian Garcia
WWE

Sometimes, nice is just nice.

Lillian Garcia had a career with WWE that stretched back to the heyday of the Attitude Era and ran all the way past Daniel Bryan’s Yes! Movement, with a two-year break in 2009-11. For many fans, she was the voice of WWE programming and a familiar face on their screens from Steve Austin to John Cena.

Still, Garcia wasn’t always treated the best by the company, being teased in a mean-spirited way on camera multiple times and treated as an object at other times, which was the way WWE operated.

Monday night, WWE played it straight and gave Garcia a nice moment on Raw, with Samantha Irvin introducing her and asking her to help introduce the participants for a King of the Ring quarterfinals match. Lillian received a very warm applause and put over Irvin as a great ring announcer before the two hugged.

As a moment, this was a simple, positive scene, and it deserves some kudos.
