3. Lyra Getting Some Shine

Lyra Valkyria was a central figure in the NXT women’s division, but that doesn’t necessarily guarantee success on the main roster. It all depends on whether wrestlers are given a purpose and an opportunity to shine when called up.

Thankfully, Valkyria has been thrust right into the middle of a couple major angles, giving her plenty of screentime and boosting her profile in fans’ eyes. They’ve leaned on her friendship with countrywoman Becky Lynch, giving The Man an ally that she’s oftentimes lacked in her battles. That instantly elevates her a notch or two.

But rather than simply being “Becky’s little buddy,” Lyra also has had the chance to shine in the ring, winning her first two Queen of the Ring matches, including a decent little match Monday against Zoey Stark. While not a classic or on the level of last week’s win over Dakota Kai, it still showcased what Valkyria has offer.

And just to drive things home even more, it was Lyra who ran down to save Lynch from a Damage CTRL attack, once again inserting herself into a significant moment on Raw and putting her face-to-face with her opponent next week, Iyo Sky.

Contrast this with past callups who sat in catering for months with nothing to do. There’s no opportunity for the dust to settle on Valkyria since her debut, and that’s a great thing to see.
