6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (15 July - Results & Review)

2. Apologize For What?

Imagine being so obsessed and angry that you’re handed the one thing you want more than anything in the world and refuse to do the one simple act that would grant that opportunity – because it somewhat conflicts with your obsession.

Drew McIntyre has been on a tear about being screwed over by CM Punk and WWE officials who have allowed the Second City Saint to interfere in his matches without repercussions. McIntyre lost it after Money in the Bank and got himself suspended, negating a match with Punk at SummerSlam.

Monday, Raw GM Adam Pearce offered to lift the suspension and make the match official – if Drew apologized to the two referees he assaulted after the PLE. Rather than taking ten seconds and sucking it up, Drew doubled-down and got on his high horse about how they were part of the effort to screw him over and refused to apologize, saying they should get on their knees to beg forgiveness. He continued to rant until Pearce announced the suspension would continue (for at least another week).

McIntyre’s blind hatred has reached the point where he can’t even see straight for 30 seconds. Everyone is culpable: Punk, Pearce, the refs, the fans who chant for Punk, and probably Stu the cameraman too. He’s lost it, in the best kind of way. Don’t expect any headlocks when Drew and Punk finally get in the ring.
