When Kurt Angle was announced for Raw last week, you’d be forgiven if you were a little nervous about how the Olympic Hero would be used in his hometown of Pittsburgh.

But we lucked out, as Angle barely got to talk before Alpha Academy interrupted, setting off a fun segment with Chad Gable verbally sparring with his hero, right down to a shoosh-off. Gable offered Angle a spot in Alpha Academy, but Kurt declined. This led to the Street Profits running down to defend the Hall-of-Famer, but Gable had an idea for an interesting stipulation: If the Alphas won their tag match, Angle had to join them as a member of the Academy.

Of course, the Profits won, and then Angle celebrated with them with milk. But it made for a fun, inoffensive little bit of drama and gave Kurt a bit more purpose than coming out and plugging Clash at the Castle. Plus, Gable is highly entertaining at everything he does.
