4. QOTR Match Reveals Cheat Code

When executed well with minimal missteps, a four-way match (especially on television) really is a can’t-miss prospect. It’s all action with no rest holds, no time to settle down, and a series of organic twists and turns as wrestlers dive in for saves and counters.

The Queen of the Ring quarter-final match pitting Alexa Bliss, Chelsea Green, Liv Morgan, and Becky Lynch against each other bore this cheat code out Monday night, with all four women burning through a series of attacks, counters, and pin attempts. They avoided too many convoluted spots with all four of them, and instead relied on fast-paced exchanges with wrestlers coming and going rapidly.

The finish saw Bliss block an Oblivion and counter with Sister Abigail, only for Becky to save and plant Alexa with a Manhandle Slam. Green grabbed Becky and nailed an Un-Pretty-Her, only for Liv to sneak in with a jackknife cover on Chelsea for the win (itself a callback to last year’s QOTR tournament when Roxanne Perez used the same cover to advance in a match that included Morgan).

Rather than trying to build drama and tension, they kept the energy high and everything moving, which served the match really well. The one humorous thread throughout was Green constantly preening as someone trying to lean into becoming a fan favorite, almost amazed at how fans were backing her.
