6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (11 Oct - Results & Review)

2. The Main Event’s Purpose

Post-match, Roman had to come out and try to even the odds lest Jimmy end up back on the shelf as quickly as he returned from it. That's when Reigns ran headfirst into human brick wall Jacob Fatu. That forced a knowing look from Roman. Yep, these cousins are going to need some backup or they're screwed.

Storytelling. You've gotta love it.

Jey Uso is the next logical step, and that started to sink in for Roman. He'll have to swallow some pride and ask someone he took for granted if he's up for getting the band back together. That one glance from Reigns towards Jimmy put a neat bow on their exchange during SmackDown's opening promo.

This is going to be totally different to the brand crossover Triple H is booking for the women and for Cody vs. GUNTHER. It isn't about some annual, month-long distraction (the Crown Jewel belts). It's bigger. This crossover can be justified because it's part of an ongoing story that impacts WWE as a whole.
