6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 2)

3. It’s Really Hard To Have Faith

Lacey Evans 2022

WWE and Lacey Evans do deserve the benefit of the doubt with this latest repackage job, but (there's that pesky word again)...when are they gonna stick with some direction for Lacey? She's been all over the place for years now, and that makes it nigh-on impossible to believe these vignettes will lead to anything.

How long until the writers get bored of it, basically?

On paper, having Evans go 'back to basics' by leaning on her military background sounds logical. It really, really does, and yet the entire idea smacks of something fans have been asked to swallow before. If this is going to be six weeks of nonstop video packages, then a few matches and another sabbatical, then forget it.

Sorry, but it is difficult to have any faith in WWE creative when it comes to Lacey. She's been a 'Sassy Southern Belle', an inspiring mother, a meddling bitch and everything in between. Now, she's a super soldier who can out-tough everyone on the roster. Fingers crossed it clicks.
