6 Ups & 5 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (29 April)

3. Callis Goes Swingin'

First off, since when was Hernandez acting as the bodyguard to Johnny Swinger? Last we saw of him, the former LAX man was being felled by Shera at Hardcore Justice, albeit through interference from Rohit Raja. There’s been no story told as to why he’s now aligned with ‘The Swing Man’.

Secondly – and most importantly – keep Kenny Omega as far away from anything Swinger-related. This has been stated before. That it needs stating once more should be reason enough to understand why.

There’s no benefit to involving Swinger, and by association Hernandez, in the Omega in IMPACT storyline. Granted, his involvement here was extremely minor; Don Callis offered to ignore the twenty thousand dollars he and ‘The Best Bout Machine’ were owed if Swinger could pick Omega up and drive him to the IMPACT Zone. It’s hardly ground-breaking stuff.

IMPACT’s creative team are clearly just involving him here as a way of getting him on television. A Swinger’s Palace skit with someone, literally anyone, else would have sufficed. That Callis even trusts ol’ Johnny is worrisome enough.
