6 Ups & 5 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (29 April)

1. Weight Jokes In 2021

A backstage interview with Gia Miller and Scott D’Amore saw Moose interrupt the duo, demanding to know why he’s being forced to qualify for the Under Siege number one contender’s scrap. The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion claimed to be the only roster member capable of scraping the title away from Kenny Omega.

Cue James Storm to walk in, offering two packed lunches to Moose because of some strange advice his grandfather had given him. ‘The Cowboy’ essentially made a weight joke to Moose before handing him the two bags, despite Moose literally not even being overweight.

Weight jokes have no place in general life nowadays, let alone in professional wrestling. Storm is supposed to be the babyface in this match, yet, he’s coming across as a bigger d*ck than Moose. All Moose was doing was being a generic heel, asking the authority figure he’s mates with why he has to fight for a chance to become the first in line to Kenny Omega.

That’s standard heel heat. What Storm was doing was something you typically only find in modern-day WWE. Less of this in IMPACT, please; don’t go down that route.
