6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Bad Blood (Results & Review)
5. Delivering Moments
WWE has mastered the dark arts of covering up middling action and limited, five-match PLE cards with a variety of shortcuts and ga-ga.
The middle three matches at Bad Blood were underwhelming-to-decent-at-best, but each one had something memorable that occurred between the bell that fans can remember – moments that very possibly will overshadow match quality.
The WWE Women’s Championship match featured Tiffany Stratton interfering to save Nia Jax (after a rare female referee bump), leading to confusion between the champ and Tiffy about whether Ms. Money in the Bank was going to cash in her briefcase. That obviously will feed into growing distrust between Jax and Stratton.
Dominik Mysterio being hoisted into the air in a shark cage during the Women’s World Championship match on its own was an incredible visual, but Dirty Dom hanging upside-down from the cage by his ankle was even better, regardless of how contrived it was. Raquel Rodriguez returning to save Liv Morgan by attacking Rhea Ripley will be a major talking point heading into Raw as well.
Even Damian Priest and Finn Balor’s grudge match included the moment of Priest finally overcoming the Judgment Day numbers game that had befallen him multiple times during the past month.
While these moments don’t wholly overcome lacking matches with other flaws, they do deserve recognition as positive developments during Bad Blood.
