6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE NXT Spring Breakin' (30 April - Results & Review)

1. Lash Lays Down Some Intrigue

Lash Legend Trick Williams
WWE

Trick Williams is on top of the world right now. He did something his former best friend Carmelo Hayes couldn’t – slay the Mad Dragon – and he’s hauling around some serious hardware in the NXT Championship.

Williams gave praise to Ilja Dragunov and declared it the Whoop That Era (needs work) to open the show Tuesday, but he was quickly interrupted by Lash Legend, who flirted a bit back and forth with Trick as they sparred and Williams dropped some solid pickup lines.

But then Legend got down to business, waving a manilla envelope and saying that Trick’s title reign was going to come crashing down, that things were going to get “really, really hot” for the champ.

And that was it. There was no real hint as to what was in the envelope – Is it a contract for a new superstar? A sonogram? A menu of her favorite restaurant? A title match contract for Battleground? But the somewhat playful, somewhat devious way Lash set this up gave an air of mystery, and really, a good little mystery is almost always welcome, and it set up next week’s Supernova Sessions for the reveal.

Trick is so magnetic that he will likely make whatever this is work for him, but it was nice that the champ immediately has a new plotline, but it isn’t as clear as “Challenger A walks out with mic in hand.”
