6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE NXT Spring Breakin' (30 April - Results & Review)

DOWNS…

5. Grace And Gigi Dine On Contrivance

Why does NXT insist on doing these forced, silly, poorly acted segments to open their TV specials where wrestlers talk to each other in a strange way as they preview the night’s card? It’s so unnatural and generally awful that it’s painful to watch.

Tuesday’s edition featured Gigi Dolin, who is still under the tutelage of Ariana Grace, who is giving Dolin etiquette lessons. That joke had potential for a one-show skit, with Gigi trying on clothes and makeup and ultimately meeting Grace halfway and the two form an odd couple friendship/tag team.

Instead, the gag soldiers on and was dusted off Tuesday for the preview, which was most notable for Gigi burping while drinking water and managing to turn Ariana’s lessons into segues to talk about each upcoming match.

These preview sketches are never any good, never entertaining and never acted even decently, so why must NXT insist on continuing to film and air them?
