4. Giving Kaiser A Spotlight

When Ludwig Kaiser debuted on the main roster, he was little more than Gunther’s sidekick and personal ring announcer, also serving as the guy who took a beating on the Ring General’s behalf.

Even when Giovanni Vinci rejoined Imperium, Kaiser was almost exclusively a tag guy who introduced Gunther. That façade has slowly faded away during the past several months, rapidly accelerating after WrestleMania 40 with Vinci booted from the group and Ludwig wrestling more singles matches, picking up a signature win last week against Sheamus.

Kaiser’s promo Monday night didn’t hide from that reality. Rather, he leaned into it and talked about disproving people’s perception of him, how he was not to be taken lightly, and that anyone who has gotten in his way has been eliminated. All of this built to entering himself into the Money in the Bank conversation.

The truth is, Ludwig is probably not poised to become a world title challenger-in-waiting, but allowing him to show a more lethal, serious side makes him more viable as a singles star. That win over Sheamus should mean something, so playing it up immediately and trying to parlay it into contending for the MITB briefcase is really smart business.
