6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (17 Mar - Results & Review)

4. A Disappointing, Predictable Main Event

No one – literally no one – was buying an Intercontinental Championship title change on Raw on Monday night. And while a predictable result isn’t always a bad thing, Finn Balor and Bron Breakker delivered an uneven match with a few missteps.

The match really was a “play the hits” type of contest, as both men ran through their usual offense with a couple of decent counters worked into it. Balor countered a spear on the floor with a slingblade, while Bron caught a leapfrog attempt and spiked Finn with a powerslam.

The finish saw Dominik Mysterio attempt to interfere during a Breakker superplex attempt, only to accidentally crotch Balor, allowing Bron to nail a Frankensteiner. One spear later and it was over.

The match itself served as a vehicle for two stories: the continued implosion of the Judgment Day, and Penta squaring off against Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship (whether that’s a singles bout or part of a multi-man match).
