6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (22 April - Results & Review)

UPS…

6. Working His Way Back

Drew McIntyre Sheamus
WWE

Some less-savory characters online decided that bashing Sheamus for his appearance upon his return after WrestleMania 40 was a good idea. It was not, but that didn’t stop WWE’s resident social media troll from capitalizing.

Drew McIntyre was having his usual in-ring pity party when Sheamus came out to confront his longtime friend, pointing out that he blew up his WrestleMania moment “over a stupid social media spat” and trying to be a reality check for the Scottish Warrior. But McIntyre wasn’t having it, leaning into the online criticism and making fat jokes at Sheamus.

The Celtic Warrior stood his ground, and then battled Shinsuke Nakamura in a tough challenge that saw the Irishman struggle – with the announcers pointing to his injuries as slowing him down. Sheamus would triumph, but it seemed clear that the story was that he isn’t 100% yet.

Meanwhile, McIntyre now has a new target in a somewhat vulnerable Sheamus, which could make for an interesting feud in the interim.
