1. What A Four-Way Mess

The fatal four-way match to determine Gunther’s next challenger for his Intercontinental Championship was steaming along really nicely Monday night, looking like an easy guilty pleasure.

And then the last 20 seconds happened.

With Ricochet and Miz laid out, Ivar and Bronson Reed started climbing the turnbuckles to deliver knockout blows, pointing at each other the whole time. Ivar nailed Ricochet with a moonsault, while Miz evaded Reed’s Tsunami. Ivar and Miz covered their men… and Miz got a three count, while Ricochet kicked out.

And then it got worse.

The referee tried to wave off the pinfall and looked to tell Samantha Irvin to not announce Miz as the winner, which she did anyway. It was clunky, messy and just bad. The result didn’t even make sense logistically, with a monster like Reed getting pinned off a missed splash while Ricochet kicked out of being flattened by a 350-pound moonsault.

Just a horrible mess that completely undercut any goodwill built up during the match.
