6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (July 25)
1. Hometown Energy Burst
You can call it a fired-up New York crowd. You can say it was because WWE was home at Madison Square Garden. You can say that talent was fired up with a new direction possibly coming.
Whatever the case, there were several subtle glimpses of different energy on Raw Monday night, both from the fans and from the wrestlers. You heard Jimmy Smith mention how the Bloodline had six belts among them. Alexa Bliss finally gained a stated purpose. The 24/7 Championship was nowhere in sight. General silliness was kept to a minimum with a hard sell for some SummerSlam matches, including a pull-apart brawl between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair.
Whether you liked it or not, you can’t deny that Raw was a bit different in presentation on Monday night, and the energy level was definitely turned up, along with some subtle changes.
