6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (May 2)

1. A Nice Twist On The Boring

From the opening notes of Roman Reigns’ entrance theme to when Paul Heyman began to speak, four minutes passed. Four minutes of slowly walking, lifting titles and pyro. (Keep that in mind next time a match is cut because of time.)

And after Heyman prattled about nothing, Roman went through his “Acknowledge me” call-and-answer… only this time, something backfired.

RK-Bro popped out from under the ring and hit stereo RKOs on the Usos, laying them out, and then invited Drew McIntyre down to confront Reigns. This led to a slugfest between the two, and then a pier six brawl for the opening segment.

Having Randy Orton and Riddle jump the Usos and outsmart the Bloodline was a great twist on the usual slow-moving stuff and showed that the dominant faction’s hubris is definitely a weakness. Well done.
