6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (Results & Review - January 29)

5. No More Jokes

For the past several weeks, the Judgment Day has taken part in a social experiment: Can R-Truth be consistently funny and a net positive as a pseudo-member of the heel faction? The answer was mixed, but it also had turned the biggest heel faction on Raw into a comedy troupe.

That ended Monday night when the group unceremoniously kicked Truth out of even being Judgment Day-adjacent. After successfully defending their tag titles, the group called Truth out and proceeded to beat him to a pulp, but not before Damian Priest made sure to tell him that he always liked him and refused to take part in the beating – though he did nothing to stop JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio from battering him.

In reality, Truth’s comedy has a place, and it sometimes hit, but last week’s hijinks during Priest’s match against Drew McIntyre should have – and turned out to be – the breaking point for humoring the perpetual goof. That the beatdown also enveloped Miz just made it more entertaining, unless this is leading to Awesome Truth defeating Judgment Day for the tag titles at WrestleMania.
