6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Feb 19)

Ups...

Onto the good stuff, and there was a ton of it.

There's a smouldering intensity to Roman Reigns that's so watchable, and Edge is just on fire as a promo man these days. He was always good, but damn! The 'Rated-R Superstar' has taken things to a whole new level on the mic since returning last year, and he seems motivated as hell to make every one of his feuds compelling.

This is the second time these men have been face-to-face, and it just works. Even if WWE hadn't already decided that this was the Universal Title bout for 'Mania (which they have), they could book it off the back of SmackDown's opening confrontation. It was that good.

There's no other match on the horizon that deserves to headline the biggest pay-per-view of 2021 more than this one does. Electricity fills the air when Edge and Reigns stare each other down. If only they hadn't booked that unnecessary spear to close the broadcast.
