6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Feb 19)

5. Newest Heel Tag-Team?

Chad Gable Otis Alpha Academy Rey Mysterio

There are two major takeaways from this short tag. First, everyone should be glad that the Mysterio clan's naff feud with 'King' Corbin is over. Secondly, there's money in booking Otis as some modern-day version of Vader who gets egged on by an over-enthusiastic, Kurt Angle-esque coach.

That's what Chad Gable is, let's be real.

SmackDown's writers could have a fine tag-team division burning away in the background here if they play their cards right. Rey and Dominik were always going to work as a duo, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode are good reigning champs, The Street Profits are still there (but need to turn heel) and now Otis and Gable look like they're fun baddies.

Seeing Otis attack a defenceless Mysterio at Chad's behest was heelish as all hell. Imagine what these guys could be capable of if WWE stripped away their comedic elements, went straight-up bad ass and mixed Otis' power game with Gable's amateur acumen.
