6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 1)
4. Setting Up A Must-See Rematch
Many casual fans have likely forgotten Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre from last year's Survivor Series pay-per-view. That's one of the biggest problems with WWE's forgettable 'Raw vs. SmackDown' branding for the November tradition - everything sort of blends together, and nothing really stands out.
Time for a rematch then.
Drew cut a solid promo on this week's show. It established him as next in line once Roman is finished with Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel, and it hinted that WWE might avoid the usual 'Brand vs. Brand' or 'Champion vs. Champion' clash at Survivors (unless, of course, they fancy running Reigns vs. Big E).
If not, then they can always hold off on McIntyre's title tilt until TLC in December, or push him into a featured spot come the Royal Rumble. Whichever way one slices it, this is a repeat WWE needed to book. Go back and watch that first showdown from 2020. You won't be disappointed.
